One of the major reasons for not being able to upgrade to the Windows 8.1 operating system is mainly due to not applying needed updates on your system. Before you go for a system update, make sure that you have updated your system with all the latest updates. The updates can be installed on your system by launching the Windows Update program and following the prompts shown. If the version or editions of the Windows 8 operating system you have installed on your system do not support Windows Store, then also you will not be able to download new upgrades from Windows Store. Some versions of the Windows 8 operating system will not allow you to download from the Windows Store such that you will need to find another way to download it. You can install the upgrade by completely uninstalling the new operating system and then downloading and installing the operating system on your system.
